Manchester United captain Harry Maguire has been arrested in connection with an attack on police.

He was arrested on the Greek island of Mykonos for attacking police after a fight outside a bar.

The 27-year-old defender got into an altercation with other British tourists last night in Mykonos while on vacation with his girlfriend Fine Hawkins.

When authorities tried to intervene, three people, including England International, fought physically and verbally while resisting arrest.

As a result, the three were arrested on Friday morning, August 21, and taken away with handcuffs, Mail Online reports.

Manchester United said in an announcement: "The club knows about the charges made against Harry Maguire at Mykonos the previous evening.

He has connections to Harry and is completely helping out the Greek specialists.

"We will not comment further now."

However, history has rapidly scattered about how Maguire, the world's most valuable defender, ends up in a police cell for two nights.

Peter Nazo, the founder of Mykonos Live Television, filmed a video of Maguire entertaining himself on Thursday night, just an hour before even the event that ended in his capture.

"He's been so kind to us," Nazo stated.

"With my buddies he took photographs. He was silent, but he yelled very openly with the people he was with.

"I was really surprised when I found that he's been detained last night because I felt like he's a nice guy."

Nazo said he wished that footballers wouldn't stop visiting the island.

"For sure they are invited today," he stated.

"It was not much, just beverage and a war." "Why not?

Sky News understands that his attorneys are arguing for him that a fight with two Albanian men started in Fabrica region of mykonos city. Maguire would not engage in a Syros hearing on Tuesday.
