Argentine legend Lionel Messi has submitted a request to leave the club.

Messi will leave Barcelona soon after submitting his transfer request

The club announced on Tuesday the ESPN department's Jordi Blanco that Messi had announced his decision to use a service called the Bureau of Foxfox in Spain to send urgently needed evidence to third parties.

The 33-year-old Messi has a contract until 2021, but has been frustrated by events on and off the pitch at Camp Nate in recent months.

Messi's unhappy rumors have been circulating since Bayern Munich humiliated Barcelona 8-2 in the Champions League quarter-final on 14 August, failing to win the club trophy in a single season.

Following that match, Barcelona fired head coach Quick Setian and technical manager Eric Abidel.

Barcelona have replaced Ronald Koeman with Cetian as the Dutchman wants to keep Argentina at Camp Nou.

However, after joining Messi, Koman was unable to convince the Taliban that he was part of his plan.

Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu has previously said that Messi will end his career at Camp Nou as his future is in question.

Argentine legend Lionel Messi has submitted

  • Messi has a condition in the contract that allows him to be released.
  • Messi hasn't changed the course for the first time. In 2016, after he left the national team, his prospects created hysteria in his country, citing his discontent with the federation.

However, less than two months later, Messi changed his mind, in the middle of appeals from coaches, supporters and even the president.

  • Barcelona and Messi negotiated in the new situation a clause authorizing them to step on without the transfer payment being ordered as long as they expressed their readiness to leave before the end of the season.
  • The tragedy triggered by the Spanish pandemic in soccer only stopped months after the deal. However the pandemic caused the Spanish season.
  • Messi complained that Bartomeu did not follow the spirit of the agreement and demanded that Messi stayed until the backers paid the full buy-out, which Messi found "impossible."
